Definitions

Diverted/Forwarded Calls.

  • You can set up your VL number to forward calls on to any other phone number, including your mobile number. Any forwarded call is chargeable and will be deducted from your Free Credit or inclusive minutes.

Outbound Calls.

  • Any call made (or forwarded) from your app or device is referred to as an outbound call and is therefore chargeable unless it is included in your free minutes.
  • Outbound calls are made from your app or device either using your data connection or using your mobile network using the “GSM” calling option.
  • Why use GSM calling? Often your phone’s mobile signal is better suited for making voice calls than your data connection, so if you are experiencing poor quality calls using data, we advise using the GSM option. The person you are calling will only see your VL number.

Inbound Calls

  • You can receive unlimited inbound calls through your app – even using our “Starter” product.
  • As with outbound calls, your data connection may not provide the best call quality so we advise forwarding all calls to your mobile number unless you are confident that you have a good enough data connection…. typically indoors using a stable wi-fi network. Don’t forget that forwarded calls are chargeable to receive, calls delivered to the app are free.

Free Call Credit

  • If your chosen product has free calling credit, this amount can be used towards non-inclusive minutes (i.e. international calls) or in the case of “Starter” users – all outbound or forwarded calls.
  • Free call credit does not reduce each month unless actually used. Once it is used you must top up through your account portal.

Starter

Virtual Landline Starter plan is a bit like a PAYG service. You pay £3.95 a month for the facility and you can receive unlimited inbound calls, but only on your free App.

If you wish to make outbound calls from the App or forward your inbound calls to another number (e.g. your mobile) you will have to pay for these minutes from your Top-Up account. To get you going we add £1 of free welcome credit (once only), to your Top-Up account.

Inbound calls that aren’t forwarded are unlimited and will not be deducted from your call balance.

If you need to add more minutes for calls to your Starter plan, you can top up through the Online Account.

Overseas call diverts are charged at our international rates and will be deducted from the Top-Up balance. Basic

Virtual Landline Basic plan is an inbound only service. This means that all your calls from your Virtual Landline number will be diverted to your mobile or landline number, there are no outbound calls included. The Basic plan offers unlimited inbound calls forwarding to any standard UK landline or mobile. There is no need for you to use a VoIP phone or a Virtual Landline app.

The plan is subject to a Fair Usage Policy (see our Terms and Conditions), which applies to users who carry out normal inbound calling activity.

The Fair Usage Policy* applied to the plan is designed so that users who carry out 'Normal' inbound calling activity (based upon our average statistical analysis) will not be charged for any UK national or mobile minutes for calls, diverted to standard UK landline and mobile numbers.

Overseas call diverts are charged at our international rates and will be deducted from the top-up balance or the £5 welcome credit. To search for specific country tariffs please use the Rate Finder on this page and enter the country or phone number you wish to dial. Partial country names and numbers are valid to search for.

If you need to add more minutes for international calls to your Basic plan, you can top up through the Online Account.

London numbers with 0207 and 0208 prefixes will incur an additional cost of £2 per month.

*For guidance, customers regularly making more than 40 calls per day to UK numbers are not classed as 'Normal Users' and hence will invoke our Fair Usage Policy. To be specific - we apply a notional credit to the account equivalent to either 3,600 minutes/month of UK 01/02/03 landline calls OR 1,000 UK mobile minutes/month (Vodafone, O2, EE and Three) or any combination of both. If you exceed this you will charged at our standard rate which can be found on our tariffs page. At all times the decision of Buzz Networks Ltd is final.

UK Unlimited

Virtual Landline UK Unlimited plan gives you unlimited inbound and outbound calls to any standard UK landline and mobile. The plan is subject to a Fair Usage Policy (see our Terms and Conditions), which applies to users who carry out normal inbound/outbound calling activity.

The Fair Usage Policy* applied to the plan is designed so that users who carry out 'Normal' inbound/outbound calling activity (based upon our average statistical analysis) will not be charged for any UK national of mobile minutes for either outbound or diverted minutes to standard UK landline and mobile numbers. 

Calls answered using a Softphone, Buzz App or VoIP phone are not classed as diverted calls and therefore are FREE to receive.

Inbound and Outbound calls made to non-UK numbers will be charged at our international rates and will be deducted from the top-up balance or the £5 welcome credit. Freephone

Virtual Landline Freephone plan allows inbound calls only.  

Each month subscribers receive a credit for inclusive minutes equivalent of 300 minutes of calls(broken down to 150 minutes inbound to the 0800/150 minutes outbound to the divert) to 01/02/03 UK numbers or standard rate UK 07 prefix mobile number (Vodafone, O2, EE and Three) or calls to World international destinations as per the list of included countries in the page International cover. Once the credit has been used, subscribers will need to add top-up credit to continue using the service. Calls to numbers outside these prefixes at any time will be deducted from the top-up credit. For details of these rates use the Rate Finder on this page. Unused top-up will carry forward each month.
