What is a UK calling code?

A UK calling code, also known as an area code when referring to local numbers, is the unique prefix of a local number. Local numbers are landline numbers associated with a specific area in the UK. Each local number begins with a unique prefix, known as a caller code or an area code.

What do UK caller codes look like?

UK area codes start with 01 or 02, so if you see a number starting with 01 or 02, it’s likely to be a home or business landline.
