VoIP vs Landline Telephone

In this article VoIP and landline are explained e.g. whats the difference and why landline is outdated. It includes the ways you can go about updating your technology to get the most efficient process...

What is the difference between a VoIP Telephony system and a landline telephone?

Voice over internet protocol (VoIP) is a way of communicating through a variety of technologies over the internet. With VoIP you can use your mobile, computer, desk phone or tablet to make phone calls, the device only needs a stable internet connection.

It is easier to install as there is no dedicated infrastructure that needs to be put in place and also easier to manipulate so you can benefit from a much wider set of features e.g. Simultaneous Ringing or Auto Attendant and many more…

A landline is a telephone connected using a wire from a telephone wall socket. They are still based off analogue switch boxes which limits the amount of new features you can have as the technology is quite basic. Installation can also be harder as there has to be separate wiring installed to connect the phone to the phone line.

What does Virtual Landline offer?

Virtual landline is a cloud-based telephony service that allows you to divert your incoming calls to a phone number of your choice.

There are many virtual numbers available for you to choose from including; London numbers, Freephone numbers, and specific local numbers.

Once your virtual landline is set up you then have the ability to implement some of the professional features and benefits we offer, as shown on this page.

It gives you the ability to improve your call management, appear more professional with 0800 numbers or local landline area codes, and you can do it all from a free virtual landline app!

Through the whole process and after, you can contact our UK based customer service - +44 (0) 203 488 0088 who will answer all your queries to the best of their ability.
